"Tim Minneci does an admirable job recounting something most music historians don't want to remember: the power ballads of the 80s. Those crossover songs that made Iron Maiden fans and Bon Jovi fans come together. Minneci has plenty of snark, but he is also genuine when he talks about his favorite songs. While I was familiar with a number of the songs he spotlights, there were many I had never heard of as well. Definitely inspired me (un-ironically) check out some of these songs. 3 out of 5 stars"
